Olive, The Other Reindeer
When Olive, a dog, overhears the words “Olive…the Other Reindeer” she sets out to find Santa at the North Pole convinced that she is now a reindeer. The book follows her comedic adventures as she surprises Santa and his reindeer crew.
Olive the reindeer is a wonderful character that will have children giggling through the whole book.
Turkey Claus
After surviving Thanksgiving, Turkey decides to set off to the North Pole to see if Santa can help him make it through Christmas dinner. The books follows all the creative and funny disguises that Turkey comes up with to get himself in front of The Big Guy.
This is a really fun book that has really great pictures too. It’s simple to follow for younger kids but will still have them laughing at all the ways Turkey tries to get help from Santa.
The Knights Before Christmas
This is a very cute and clever twist on the classic ‘Twas A Night Before Christmas story.
The nights are settling in on December 24th when all of a sudden they are called into action to guard the castle from an invader. But little do they know that the invader is actually Santa Claus. Kids will absolutely love the silliness that this parody takes on the Christmas Eve story.
The Not Very Merry Pout-Pout Fish
Pout-Pout Fish was one of my son’s favorite book characters when he was a preschooler. This holiday tale featuring The Pout-Pout Fish is sure to be a hit with any fan as well as even kids who aren’t familiar with this character.
This book follows Mr. Fish trying to find the perfect gift, but what he finds in the end is even better. The shopping trip he takes though is fun and silly and the pictures are just great for young readers.
There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Bell!
All of the “There Was An Old Lady” books are adorable but this is simply perfect for preschoolers at Christmas time. The rhyming patterns in this story are perfect for toddlers and preschoolers. You may even find yourself singing the lines in the book!
Learn why the old lady swallowed the bell as she continues swallowing all these wacky Christmas items and see what comes from it.
Big Pig and The Lost Elf
This is a witty book about a pig who keeps making all kinds of mistakes on the farm and a little lost elf who needs to find his way back to The North Pole. The two set out on a fun adventure around the world to get the little elf back to his home.
But can this pig, who isn’t the most graceful animal, really help the elf get back home safely? It’s a clever and fun story with it’s silly rhymes but it’s also much more as well.
The Gingerbread Pirates
When Captain Cookie comes alive he has one thing on his mind – rescue his crew from the big bad Santa who likes to eat cookies. He is ready to do battle with Santa whatever it may take.
This is definitely not your normal children’s Christmas book but is great for a little adventure and a fun twist on the gingerbread story. You can even make this book into a Christmas tradition and make some pirate gingerbread men together with your kids.
Santa’s Underwear
Santa’s getting ready to deliver some toys on his sleigh but he can’t seem to find his favorite old pair of ragged underwear to wear under his suit. He tries to make other pairs work (which includes other holiday themed underwear), but just can’t find the right pair. But, then his reindeer have a surprise for him.
My kids thought this was super cute and of course since it talks about Santa’s underwear you are going to get several giggles from kids.
How Do Dinosaurs Say Merry Christmas?
If you have never read one of the “How Do Dinosaurs” books then you are missing out. These books are super funny with all the silly dino pictures but they also teach great lessons as well.
In this book kids will love the little things the dinosaurs do to get ready for Christmas from sneaking a peek at gifts to licking the candy canes.
How To Catch Santa
Do you think you have what it takes to catch Santa? Well, these two siblings give clever little tips on how to catch Santa on Christmas Eve and you might just find yourself laughing along with the crazy things that they come up with.
This is a unique Christmas book in that it is written in an instructional how-to form rather than a traditional story.
